Park at the parking ground "Den Jyske Skovhave" (Arboretum) and walk into the arboretum.

Immediately after the entry to the Arboretum, you find a small thatched pavilion where you can take a folder with the more than 140 various plantations in the Arboretum. Walk around and enjoy the various small groves of both Danish and more exotic trees.

Then you walk out of the southern gates in the Arboretum. The road leads to the old farm "Mosskovgaard", where the forest supervisor lives. Follow the road to the right, through the viaduct. Now you turn left and follow the road until you reach the "Rold Skov Bench". Take a rest while you enjoy the beautiful view over St. Økssø.

When the road splits in two by the elegant "Mosskov-oak" you take the road to the left. On your right hand you see LI. Økssø (moor), where there is a good chance of seeing game. Presently you turn right - on this road you pass "Hestegravene" at your right and "Røverstuen" on your left hand. They are both sinkholes (jordfaldshuller).

Then you follow the next road on your right hand until you reach "St. Økssø" again. If you want to make the tour longer, you can walk around the lake. Follow the path to the northern/eastern part of the lake and you will find the small track for horse-riding and now you are on top of the "Arnebakken" again. When you are at the railway and "Mosskovhus" again, you turn right and follow the road till you arrive at the viaduct and "Mosskovgaard".

From "Mosskovgaard" you follow the road till you reach the asphalt-road. On the opposite side of the road you will see a gigantic spruce named "Forstrådens Gran". It was planted in 1887 in memory of the forest supervisor H.J. Hansen at that time. Walk back by the asphalt-road to the start by the Arboretum.
