Blokhusmuseet - Lincoln Log Cabin

Lincoln Log Cabin is named after the President of the USA Abraham Lincoln and is beautifully situated at the top of the hills in Rebild with a breath taking view over Rebild National Park and the 4th of July festival place.

The first log cabin was built in 1934. It burned down in 1993 but the following year, in Washington State, a new log cabin was built as a replacement for the old one. It was built of wood from 70 – 250 years old cedars. The house was taken apart again and shipped to Rebild where it was assembled, this time at the top of the hills.

Friends and families from Denmark and the USA meet here every year on the 4th of July to celebrate the American Independence Day.
It is a solemn as well as a happy festival with excellent speakers from both nations and first-class entertainment.

The Lincoln Log Cabin is also a Danish emigrant museum where the stories of the many Danes who immigrated to the US are told. Here you can find many effects from the time of emigration as well as a DVD show which tells the exiting story.
It is a pleasure to soak oneself in the history with its many different fates.

Over the past few years, the Rebild Society has got new attractions, several beautiful bronze statues, Max Henius for example who is the founder of the Rebild society. These are placed by the entrance to Rebild National Park.

Entrance fee: Adults DKK 20 - children up to 12 years accompanied by adults free.
Booked group visits: DKK 15 per person.
