Apart from that the following museums participate: BUDERUP ØDEKIRKE The abandoned church in Buderup is situated in Lindenborg stream valley and can be dated back to the 12th century, where the nave and chancel were built. The tower and the northern chapel are added in the Reformation. The church was earlier attached to the manor Buderupholm, but December 1907 it was closed down.
Some parts of the furniture from the old church are now in the churches in Støvring and Suldrup. Others are being kept at the Historical Museum in Aalborg.
There is a very special and fascinating atmosphere around the old, abandoned church in Buderup. The church is owned by the Danish Forest and Nature Agency, “Skov- og Naturstyrelsen”, but is being maintained by the municipality of Rebild. The municipality lets out the church for different purposes, mostly of cultural character.
It is free to enter the church. Visitors are therefore asked to protect and to care for the old church and cemetery.
The key for the old Buderup church can be lent at the municipality of Rebild (tel. 99 88 99 88) or Peter Thomsen (tel. 98 37 20 23).
