An attack by the nasty and unpredictable robbers can make the outing or the hike a remarkable experience.
The robbers always are at work in a group of three. They are not always nice, they like being a bit nasty and noisy. Neither are they quite clean. They have a habit of lying in wait in the forest, ready to ambush innocent, decent people who wander about enjoying nature.

If you meet them you must expect that it will last 20 to 30 minutes. If you are really lucky you might have a drink, a “røverbjæsk”.

You also risk running into five or six robbers at festive occasions where they are disturbing all the party. No one can feel safe – nor the guests or the host himself – when the nasty robbers occur unexpectedly – you never know what they might do!

It might be a good idea to combine such a robbery with a guide who knows the area and is familiar with it. Or take a ride in a horse drawn carriage with a driver who also knows the forest like the back of his hand.
