Because, is there a more beautiful sight than forests and hills turned into a winter wonderland?
It is an invitation to walking and playing in the snow – and exactly when we talk about playing, Rebild offers you something pretty extraordinaire in Denmark:
Two prepared ski tracks
They are made by the Rold Skov Ski Company – cooperation between local skiing enthusiasts, Buderupholm State Forest District, Hobro Ski Association, Aalborg Ski Association and Rold Forest Nature and Culture Centre.
A ski track to the North of Himmerlandsvej between Rebild and Skørping. It is 13 km long and consists of a number of tours so that the experience can vary from time to time. The trail passes a lot of beautiful sites, among these forest glades, moors, lakes and views as well as facilities such as a fireplace, a playground in the forest, a picnic cottage and – for the tuff ones – a primitive campsite. You also can start off from 4 different parking grounds.
A short ski track south of the school and activity centre in Skørping. It can be used even with very little snow.

Winter Swimming with “Søens Folk” (Local winter swimmers).
People go swimming all year in the beautiful lake Store Økssø, where now a bathing bridge and a sauna are set up.
Swimming time is every Saturday at 8 am – though in December, January and February at 8.30, another group meets at 10 am. Apart from that the sauna is heated every Sunday from 9 am and every Wednesday at 5 pm.
But of course you are welcome to swim in the lake all week – all year round.
